Magic Focus | Ring of Power

Who would ever want to actually use a staff for their magic item? Izar felt himself cringe just watching one of the other hatchlings try to drag the oversized stick away from the pile of items attuned for magic focus.

He had seen people take a lot of different objects, but none of them appealed to Izar. Whether this was a good thing or a bad thing wasn't clear- after all, he wouldn't be opposed to trying to spark another deal during an important part of his development.

Everything either seemed too fragile or too large. Little twigs that could barely be called wands, giant magical crowns that looked like they'd send your head plummeting to the ground if you tried to put it on. It was enough to make Izar actively search for one of the smallest, most sturdy items that he could within the group of remaining items.

He grumbled as he looked for a while, but his eyes eventually did widen in interest after pushing aside a large looking magical shield. It was a golden ring with a bright red ruby attached to it, though the ruby was covered by so much metal itself that only the very center of the gem was visible. It was perfect, fitting all of Izar's criteria.

Of course, Izar wasn't going to put it on his paws, that'd just be asking for trouble. Instead, he carefully moved his threads so that the ring could sit directly next to his charm. It technically counted as wearing it, and he was sure that it would work just as well as it would if it was attached to his body directly.

Maybe when he was older he'd wear the ring properly... or maybe that's just hopeful thinking.
