[Gift] a new companion

Fluonia stood in the long golden grass plains of Elysium. Here, the days were always pleasant. The sun shone golden on the white buildings, making the grass seem to glow. This beautiful shade even painted the clouds. It was a harmonious and beautiful sight.

Her halo reflected and glimmered in the sunlight, almost blinding for one to look directly at. With half of her being dark black and red, she stood out like an anomaly. It did not matter much, if at all, although it made her much easier to find. This might explain the reason for her current situation. She sighed and looked behind her at the little follower she seemed to have somehow picked up.

It was a young manticore, stumbling after her. It was hardly bigger than the tall stalks of grass that it was trying to step through. She could only see its horns and the tip of its tail as it walked towards her. The tail wagged softly back and forth as if it was having fun.

She hadn't expected the small cub to walk so far. She figured eventually it'd tire and stop, or go back to its home. The reluctant realization came that perhaps it had no home. Although it was safe here for it, it would likely get quite boring and lonely.

The elysiphim wasn't as cold as she looked, as her heart found the idea of leaving the cub alone after it clearly seemed to take a liking to her quite upsetting. "Fine... you can come along with me if you want to so badly," she says to it once it comes into view, and the cub makes a loud purr sound as if it understood the words.

Afterward, Fluonia slows down so that the manticore cub can keep up more easily. Although its fur was a light color, its tail was dark black and red, not too dissimilar to her own.

"I suppose we match a bit, don't you think?" She asks the creature, who perks its ears and wags its tail slightly. "You're just happy to have someone to walk with, aren't you?" Fluonia asks, a softness to their words. The manticore, of course, can't reply, but she feels like she could understand the pup clearly.

The pair continues to walk a bit; the wind rustling through their fur. It feels pleasant, as always. "If you're going to stick around, I think you should have a name," Fluonia says after a bit, breaking the silence of their travel. At her sudden words, the manticore looks up, tilting its head.

Fluonia studies them for a bit, her red eyes focused on the little cub's cute face. She had never named something before. What an important thing, a name. She knew little to nothing about the creature's personality, or what it'd grow up to be like. And yet...

"How about Juliane, then?" She asks, gazing at the manticore. It simply looks up at her with a shine in its eyes. It can't use any words, but it seems happy enough. "Juliane, then," Fluonia says softly, a small smile on her face as she looks down at her companion.
