hope this makes sense! I really tried to go with what the submission guide says. I've never really did a literacy analysis before!

Character arc | 1R [Continued from Show Your Pride (https://toyhou.se/~literature/243817.sveinn-chronicles/10.show-your-pride/) Ingólfr lives alone from his parents and does not dream of happy memories because of how they continue to treat and how he views his own situation. On the day of celebration, while he laid down to sleep before getting up to his usual schedule, it was just hours before this prompt "First Steps" happened. Ingólfr would never have guessed what was to come. He's been following orders and being so good.]

Backstory | 1R [In the beginning, I hesitated to even include the moment between him and his parents, but I felt it was necessary to understand the relation that that they have; even as estranged as it is. Ingólfr has and will be going through hardships this entire time of his existence. There is no way out of it, but he shall learn to cope and maybe escape it with the help of other phims he meets in these prompts. Ingólfr will always think back onto his childhood and the many times he's been proven just how wrong he is when he thinks he's close to being the perfection his parents want him to be.]

Light dialogue | 1R [It's mainly just his mother going off on him.]

Flourish | 12R for 1500+ words [Ingólfr is one who has many troubles with his family. With his mother especially as she has really high expectations for him. She expects him to be better and grander than perfection at literally everything. From fighting styles, party and royal etiquette, to getting rid of his emotions and becoming the perfect weapon. Even though he is doing his hardest to match these seemingly impossible tasks, his mother cares not if he passes or does well. He must be better than even she as he has a lot to show for. He is shown having difficulty to match her ideals. His bloodline through her and his father are one of the most powerful in all of Elysium, through the military and weapons smithing. This is shown through their large territory, their own clan flag that many can recognize, and multitude of wealth. There is no room for mistakes or average skills, there is only perfection. Ingólfr struggles with this through his entire childhood and onward. He has to live with the constant lectures and judgment over his skills while maintaining to react to nothing. It's what keeps him quiet and seemingly stoic. It's what makes him the ultimate tool to be used for the Weaver as his mother planned. I chose this background for my character because I wanted to challenge myself with a story that I could relate to with my own personal experiences and placing them in a fantasy setting. With the way things are going with his story, I wanted him to struggle but soon enough he'll be strong enough to break out of it. He'd be brave enough to make his own choices and look past his need for his parents' approval.]
